Biography of M. Nureddin Cosan

Muharrem Nureddin Cosan was born in Ankara in 1963. After graduating from Ankara Imam-Khatip high school in 1981, he attended the Theology College at Ankara University for one year. Then, he transferred to the Arabic Language Institute at King Fahd University in Saudi Arabia. After completing the Arabic program in 1987, he attended The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York to get an undergraduate degree in management.

After he returned to Turkey in 1993, he participated in arious business activities. Since 1996, upon the directions of his father Shaikh Mahmud Es'ad Cosan, he has been the president of Server Holding, which has service activities in the fields of education, health, construction, and communications. He is also a member of the Executive Committee for the Sagduyu Partisi (Commonsense Party) which was established in 2002.

Shaikh M. Nureddin Cosan accompanied his father in various trips in Australia, Europe and America. Shaikh Mahmud Es'ad Cosan took special care in raising his son in all aspects just as our late Shaikh Mehmed Zahid Kotku trained our late Shaikh Mahmud Es'ad Cosan. He tutored him and had him complete the memorization of the Qur'an. He told his close associates and family members that his son Nureddin Bey would assume the responsibility of guidance in the tariqa.

Shaikh Nureddin Cosan has a modest character; he does not like show-off. With his physique and conduct, his character resembles that of his father in youth. He is fluent in German, Arabic and English. He is married and has two children.
